Tetrahydrofuran and carbohydrates form aqueous two-phase systems at 298.15 K. Number of equatorial OH is driving force to form ATPS. Commercial sugars form also two-phase system similar a pure compounds. Diuron migrates preferentially to the THF rich-phase.
