A new method is presented for making the overall ion path in MR-TOF-MS isochronous. This time focus shift is achieved using different analyzer voltages for one turn. The new method has significant advantages compared to methods used so far. Measurements show improved performance. The flight time required for a certain resolving power is reduced by a factor of 3.
