Characterization of thermal damage in sandstone using the second harmonic generation of standing waves

The sensitivity of second harmonic method is one order higher than ultrasonic pulse velocity method. Nonlinear parameter presents an accelerated increase after the temperature is over 200 ℃. The reverse change of parameters between100  ℃ and 150 ℃ may be caused by the filling of pre-existing microcracks. The non-resonant standing waves can be used in the second harmonic generation technique as the propagating waves.
