Whole genome of Ghanaian G2P[4] rotavirus around vaccine introduction were analysed. Their genotype constellation was G2-P[4]-I2-R2-C2-M2-A2-N2-T2-E2-H2. Changes in lineages occurred in the VP3 and NSP4 genes after vaccine introduction. African-specific NSP4 lineages were formed by reassortment with non-G2P[4] strains. Animal RVA genes were not contributed to the genome of the Ghanaian G2P[4] strains.
