Vickers microhardness and microstructure relationship of Ti-6Al-4V alloy under cyclic forward-reverse torsion and monotonic torsion loading

Commercial Ti-6Al-4V bars were twisted by cyclic forward-reverse torsion (CFRT). CFRT can significantly enhance microhardness and grain refinement of Ti-6Al-4V bars. The ability ultimate grain refinement and hardenability of CFRT precede monotonic torsion. Ultrafine-grained Ti-6Al-4V bars were successfully obtained through CFRT.
