The MAP kinase MAPKLK1 is essential for Trypanosoma brucei. The depletion of MAPKLK1 caused few significant modulations on phosphoproteome. The proteome and transcriptome had few alterations in MAPLK1 knockdown. Potential substrates and indirect targets of MAPKLK1 were suggested. MAPKLK1 can participate of mRNA processing, metabolic pathways, among others.
