Electrochemical reduction of CO2 catalyzed by Fe and Co complexes is reviewed. Focus is made on the selective electrochemical CO2-to-CO conversion in pure water. A full electrochemical cell splitting CO2 into CO and H2O into O2 is presented. Photochemical reduction of CO2 catalyzed by Fe and Co complexes is further reviewed.
