Schistosoma mansoni infection reduces the severity of asthma and prevents atopy. Sm29 and Sm29TSP-2 were able to modulate lymphocyte activation in asthmatics. Sm29 and Sm29TSP-2 may control the inflammatory response associated with asthma.
