Rosemary populations from the Tyrrenian Sea were cultivated for 2 years under homogenous environmental conditions.
Three chemotypes were identified to be 1,8-cineole/β-pinene; α-pinene/verbenone and camphor/myrcene.
Volatiles were moderately correlated (0.48 ≤ r ≤ 0.75) to geographic coordinates, suggesting that genetics and origin played a greater part in their variation than location or environment.
