Histamine H3 receptor activation stimulates calcium mobilization in a subpopulation of rat striatal neurons in primary culture, but not in synaptosomes
Histamine H3 receptors (H3Rs) are abundantly expressed in the mammalian brain. H3R activation has no effect on the [Ca2+]i of rat striatal synaptosomes. H3R activation stimulates IP3 formation in rat striatal primary cultures. H3R activation increases the [Ca2+]i of striatal neurons in primary culture. H3Rs activate the PLC/IP3/Ca2+ pathway in a subpopulation of striatal neurons.
