MCs/EGC have granules with content exhibiting basic, acid and neutral character. Metachromasia was also a feature observed in fat snook's MCs/EGC. Serotonin, tryptase and chymase were found in plasmatic granules of MCs/EGC. Fat snook's MCs/EGC are very similar to mammal's mast cells.
