Development of arsenic(v) sensor based on Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer

Energy transfer based ratiometric sensor for detecting arsenic (v) was demonstrated. Energy transfer efficiency increases linearly as a function of arsenic(v) concentration. Extent of energy transfer was large at high pH. The proposed sensor is highly selective with respect to other metal ion. Applicability of the sensing system was tested using natural lake water.
