Time of treatment for intestinal infections effects grow performance in pigs. Early treatment after weaning, results in higher average daily weight gain. Pathogen detection in faecal pen floor samples is a valuable diagnostic tool. No significant effect of antibiotic compound on average daily weight gain. Doxycycline more efficient in Lawsonia intracellularis treatment than tylosine.
