An approach to prepare gold plus nickel nanoparticles co-doped glasses is reported. The bimetallic nanoparticles doped glasses exhibit enhanced optical nonlinearities. The mechanisms of the nonlinear effects of as-obtained glasses are given. The work opens up a new avenue to purse more pronounced nonlinear performance.
