Enhanced performance of extruded-spheronized carbide slag pellets for high temperature CO2 capture

Carbide slag pellets were prepared via a novel extrusion–spheronization.

Two new pore-forming materials were used to enhance CO2 sorption of the pellets.

Addition of microcrystalline cellulose improves the CO2 sorption of the pellets.

Pellets doped with pre-washed rice husk are superior to those with raw rice husk.

The mechanical strength of the pellets could be enhanced via addition of cement.
