We present a second-kind integral equation for surface tractions in Stokes flow. The formulation allows for a nontrivial background flow and/or a no-slip plane wall. Local tractions illuminate particle–wall interactions in the presence of a body force. We simulate the viscous erosion of particles held in a variety of background flows. Viscous erosion results in sharp features on the body surface.
