Feasibility of the two MS location methods is studied in a tunnel engineering condition. A thorough comparison of the performance of two MS location methods in a tunnel engineering condition is conducted. An efficient global-optimization algorithm is introduced to make the study possible. Rockburst events in the deeply-buried tunnels of the Jinping II hydropower station in China were used.
