The insertion and fretting processes of pluggable electrical connectors are assisted by 3D finite element simulation. The fretting behavior is analyzed under considering the effects of the initial stress caused by the insertion process. The fatigue life is evaluated by building the relationship between contact resistance/contact area and the number of cycles.
