The convection heat transfer coefficient of the paraffin increased throughout its phase-change stage. The enhanced heat flux in the flowing paraffin may be attributed to its phase change. The thermally full developed assumption may not be appropriate for solving the energy equations. The approach using flowing paraffin in ECSs for thermal energy storage and transfer may be technically viable.
