The NOAEL of neamine is 12 mg·kg− 1·d− 1 for females and 16 mg·kg− 1·d− 1 for males. The most susceptible organ for neamine toxicity is kidney. Neamine inhibits the progression of xenograft HepG2 liver cancer in athymic mice.
