Multiple-Network Poroelastic Theory is used to develop a model of fluid regulation and tissue displacement.
The model is used to investigate interstitial cerebral oedema formation and its alleviation.
The model is applied separately using finite difference – CFD coupling and standalone FEM formulations.
Interstitial oedema due to fourth ventricle outlet obstruction can be observed to be alleviated via simulated endoscopic fourth ventriculostomy.
Periventricular lucency can be observed using the FEM based formulation.
