Effects of different precursors on Cu2ZnSnS4 thin film solar cells prepared by sputtering method

Two different kinds of precursors of (Cu+Sn)/Zn and (Cu+Sn)/ZnS were prepared by magnetron sputtering.

The precursors were soft annealed and following two-step sulfurized in sulphur vapour.

The metal precursors (Cu+Sn)/Zn were not easy to form homogeneous CZTS films during the sulfurization, however the films with (Cu+Sn)/ZnS precursors became smooth and uniform compositional ratio distribution.

The best conversion efficiency of 3.36% was achieved with the film formed by (Cu+Sn)/ZnS precursor, the efficiency of 1.87% was achieved with the film formed by (Cu+Sn)/Zn precursor.
