Ammonium salts could promote the growth rate and optical property of ZnO nanorods. The improvement of growth rate was attributed to the hydrolysis of Zn(NH3)42+. Inhibiting defect was due to Zn(NH3)42+ attracting O rich OH− in ZnO growth sites. ZnO arrays as an antireflective coating was evaluated in CIGS solar cells.
