This study proposes a Monte Carlo-based MCDA method with transformation analysis.

MCITA–MCDA is applied to a naphthalene-contaminated aquifer in Anhui, China.

The major advantage of Monte Carlo lies in alleviation of computational effort.

Interval naphthalene concentrations and health risks is introduced into MCITA–MCDA.

MCITA–MCDA is helpful for dealing with the interval information for management.
