A hybrid desiccant cooling system was proposed by replacing a sensible wheel with a heat pump. As the heat pump capacity increases, the total cooling output increases but the heat input for regeneration decreases. An optimal heat pump capacity with minimum total energy consumption is estimated. The total energy consumption decreases by 20–30% and cooling capacity increases by 40–60%.
