This work deals with end fitting effect on behavior of flexible pipe tensile armor under varying bending with no friction. The end restraint could cause great stress increase in the armor at end vicinity and the response to curvature is linear. The location of maximum bending stress occurring at end fitting is close to the compressive extreme position of the pipe. The critical location is not dependent on the curvature for constant curvature and varying curvature with larger tensions. The effect of end restraint on layer bending stiffness is evaluated.
