mGlu2 and mGlu3 show overlapping but distinct mRNA expression patterns across a developmental trajectory. The dentate gyrus strongly expresses mGlu2 but not mGlu3 from PN8 onwards. The thalamic reticular nucleus exhibits high levels of mGlu3 mRNA in the absence of mGlu2 at all time points assessed.
