Tannic acid based hyperbranched epoxy/reduced graphene oxide nanocomposites as surface coating materials

Bio-tannic acid based hyperbranched epoxy resin (TAE) was synthesized by a simple route. The nanocomposites of TAE and reduced graphene oxide were prepared by solution technique. The nanocomposites exhibited superior performance over the pristine thermoset. The properties like tensile strength, scratch hardness, impact strength, gloss and thermo-stability were improved. The studied nanocomposite could be used as an advanced surface coating material.
