Deoxycholic acid transformations catalyzed by selected filamentous fungi

Broad biocatalytic potency of filamentous fungi was revealed toward deoxycholic acid.

Strains with 7α/β-, 15β-hydroxylase and 3α/12α-HSDH activities were discovered.

Fusarium merismoides VKM F-2310 produced UCA with highest yield.

Acremonium rutilum and Neurospora crassa strains exhibited high 15β-hydroxylase activity.
