Three zinc carboxylate complexes, [(C₆F₅Zn)₄Zn(Ar¹)₆]·1.5toluene, [(C₆F₅Zn)₄Zn(Ar²)₆]·2toluene, and [(Ar³)₆Zn₄(μ₄-O)]·MeCN (where Ar¹ = 2-chlorobenzoic acid (1), Ar² = 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoic acid (2), and Ar³ = 3-dimethylaminobenzoic acid (3)), have been prepared from the reaction of (C₆F₅)₂Zn·toluene and the corresponding functionalized benzoic acid. Complexes 1−3 were structurally characterized and screened for hydrogen absorption (uptake <0.3 wt %).
