Asymmetric Polymerization of Achiral Arylacetylenes Giving Helical Polyacetylenes in the Presence of a Rhodium Catalyst with a C2-Symmetric Tetrafluorobenzobarrelene Ligand
Rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric polymerization of achiral arylacetylenes giving polyacetylenes took place in good yields with helix sense selectivity, which was realized by use of a C2-symmetric tetrafluorobenzobarrelene as a chiral diene ligand. The helical chirality of the polymer is kinetically controlled by the chirality of the diene ligand.
