A variety of diyne and triyne 
-electron bridges were hydrosilylated to afford the bis- andtris(silylvinyl) -electron bridges. The hydrosilylation products underwent substitutionreactions with a variety of compounds containing chromophore units to give fluorescent dyesubstituted products. The easy access of the silyl hydrides may be applied to construct alarge number of copolymers.
