Reaction of[CpTi(-H)]2(-hars/eta.gif" BORDER=0 >5:hars/eta.gif" BORDER=0 >5-C10H8)withCO2 (3 atm) leads to the formation of thebis(formato)complex[CpTi(-hars/eta.gif" BORDER=0 >1-(O)CHO)]2(C10H8)(1). Complex 1contains monodentate bridging formate ligands. Thedifference between vibrational frequencieshars/nu.gif" BORDER=0 >as(CO2) andhars/nu.gif" BORDER=0 >s(CO2) is 455cm-1, the largest ever observed foramonodentate formate ligand.
