Density, Viscosity, and N2O Solubility of Aqueous 2-(Methylamino)ethanol Solution

In the present work, the density and viscosity of 2-(methylamino)ethanol (MAE) solution were measured over the temperature range of 293.15 to 323.15 K with MAE mass fractions of w<sub>1sub> = 0.075, 0.15, 0.225, and 0.30 and CO<sub>2sub> loadings varying between 0 and 0.677 mol CO<sub>2sub>/mol MAE. The physical solubility of N<sub>2sub>O in aqueous MAE solution was measured in a stirred cell reactor over the temperature range of 289.31–348.18 K with MAE mass fraction w<sub>1sub> = 0.075, 0.15, 0.225, 0.30, 0.375, 0.45, 0.60, 0.75, and 1. The experimental density data for both CO<sub>2sub> loaded and unloaded aqueous MAE solutions were fitted by Redlich–Kister equation. The Weiland’s model was used to correlate the viscosity data of aqueous MAE solution. Finally, N<sub>2sub>O solubility data were correlated by using an empirical polynomial model and compared with both the semiempirical model and the Redlich–Kister equation.
