Assembling [W(CN)₆(bpy)]⁻ and magnetic anisotropic Mn Schiff bases produced two Mn^III(3d)−W^V(5d) bimetallic chains. Modulation of the types and degrees of interchain π−π interactions in the one-dimensional coordination polymers leads to the variation of the magnetic behavior from a metamagnetic character to a single-chain magnet property.
