文摘
A functionally graded rotating disk in some applications may be affected by bending forces caused by the special type of material distribution and thermal loading. In this paper, the out-of-plane deformation in a functionally graded material (FGM) solid rotating plate having roller supports on external edge is studied. The volume fraction of ceramic particles is a power function of axial direction. The upper ceramic and lower metallic surfaces of the rotating plate are in different and fixed temperatures. A realistic rule of mixture is used for the determination of properties in each axial position by considering the ceramic volume fraction in that position. The first-order shear deformation plate theory is assumed and the equilibrium equations are obtained by minimum energy policy. Direct integration is applied to solve the differential equations of equilibrium to compute the displacement field. The effect of grading index on bending behavior of the plate is studied. A FEM analysis using ANSYS software has been done. The analyses show that the thermal and centrifugal loads have converse effects on out-of-plane deformation behavior.
