Layered germanosilicate crystalline of PLS-1 (designated as [Ge]PLS-1) is successfully synthesized from the mixture of an acidified kanemite (H-kanemite) and germanium oxide in the presence of tetramethylammonium hydroxide as an organic structure-directing agent. The amount of the installed germanium in the PLS-1 framework can be tunable in the range of Si/Ge ratio from 25 to 200. The topotactic dehydrative condensation process of interlayer’s Q 3 silanol of [Ge]PLS-1 is subjected to yield the corresponding [Ge]CDS-1 zeolite bearing reasonable microporosity. The obtained [Ge]PLS-1 and [Ge]CDS-1 zeolite were characterized by powder-XRD, solid-state NMR, FE-SEM, TG–DTA and N2 adsorption. Keywords Germanosilicate CDS-1 zeolite PLS-1 Kanemite Layered silicate
