Simplified modeling in dynamic column technique for the determination of radionuclide transport parameters in systems of solid granular materials and groundwater

Study on the determination of transport parameters of Sr2+ and Cs+ in granular materials and groundwater systems carried out in the past 10 years in our institute is presented. Simple methods of mathematical modeling have been worked out, which are based on 1-D advection–dispersion equation in the form of exponential or complementary error functions, taking in the account of linear or non-linear sorption equilibrium. Dynamic column experimental technique was used with pulse, or continuous contaminant inlet, which has several advantages over classical batch method.
