The member of double perovskite family Pb2BiNbO6 was synthesized by a high-temperature solid-state reaction method (calcinations temperature = 910 °C, sintering temperature = 950 °C). The room temperature x-ray data pattern and EDX of the sample confirms the formation of a single phase new compound. The room temperature scanning electron microscope image of the studied compound clearly shows the grains are uniformly distributed with minimal voids. Detailed studies of electric polarization and dielectric characteristics with temperature as well as frequency confirmed the existence of ferroelectricity in the material. Impedance, modulus and conductivity properties of the compound exhibits a strong correlation with the micro-structure and resistive properties of the material. The electrical transport properties of the material show the existence of non-exponential-type of conductivity relaxation in the material.
