A thermodynamic description of the entire ternary Co-Fe-Ti system is obtained by means of CALPHAD modeling. Key experiments are performed in order to complement literature data on phase equilibria mainly reported in the temperature interval from 873 to 1223 K. As-cast and annealed samples are investigated by means of x-ray diffraction measurement, electron probe microanalyses and differential scanning calorimetry in order to determine primary phase regions, invariant reactions and vertical sections. Comprehensive comparisons between the calculated and measured phase diagram data show that the experimental information is satisfactorily accounted for by the present thermodynamic description. The liquidus projection and reaction scheme of the Co-Fe-Ti ternary system are also generated by using the present thermodynamic parameters.
