Pb0.90La0.04Ba0.04[(Zr0.6Sn0.4)0.85Ti0.15]O3 (PLBZST) antiferroelectric (AFE) ceramics were fabricated via the traditional solid-state ceramics processing method and the pulsed discharging current waveforms were measured under different electric fields. The discharging current of the AFE ceramic with an area of only 15 mm2 could be as high as 50 A under 2.8 kV/mm. The analysis of hysteresis loops, dielectric constant under DC bias electric field and the discharging current waveforms indicate that the AFE dielectrics are almost linear under low electric field but show remarkable nonlinearity under high electric field. Under 2.8 kV/mm, 0.33 J/cm3 energy could be released from the stored 0.47 J/cm3 energy. The discharging efficiency is 70 %.
