The purpose of this project was to develop a plan for a shelter named Phoenix Dream Home, a resource center; find a funding source; and write a grant application to fund this program for female victims of human trafficking. Once a victim of human trafficking has been identified, she has many needs, including the need for safe shelter, trauma-focused therapy, and case management services. The overall goal of the program is to provide a safe place for human trafficking victims to start the healing process so that they can increase their self-sufficiency and resiliency. The potential funding source for this project is the Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) Foundation, because the goal of this project fits within the mission and goals of the foundation. The actual grant submission of the grant was not a requirement for successful completion of this project.
