Spatiotemporal distribution pattern of the marine originated matters on Antarctica ice sheet was useful to study the variations of sources regions,transporting mechanisms and post-depositional influences.Sea salt ions (Na+,Cl-,Mg2+),sulfur components (nssSO42- and MSA) and stable water isotopes (δD and δ18O) from surface and snow pit samples collected along the transect route from Zhongshan Station to Dome A during the austral summer in 2012-2013 were presented.General decreasing trend of the accumulation,sea salt ions and sulfur components accompanying with the increase of the distance from the coast and elevation were detected.However,different sources of the marine components,transporting pathways and post-depositional influences were responsible for their different spatial distribution pattern.Seasonal variations of the marine ions at the coastal snow pit with higher sea salt ion concentrations in winter and lower in summer and the opposite style for the sulfur compounds were found.Sea ice area surrounded Antarctica was the main source region for the sea salt deposition and the open sea water for the sulfur compounds.No significant variation trend of the marine originated components was detected during the past 3 decades.Several elevated deposition of sea salt ions were associated with lower temperature (δD and δ18O) or intensified wind field.Opposite distribution pattern for sulfur concentrations from sea salt ions were also detected and this was associated through the change of the sea ice extent surrounded.
