摘要
For bottom water drive fields, being developed with horizontal wells could delay bottom water coning. But the general horizontal well completion methods have very limit effects on delaying bottom water coning and couldn't solve the problem of water plugging either. As a result, the horizontal wells in many fields couldn't continue producing after BT water breakthrough) so they were shut down. The open hole completion has always been used in horizontal wells in fractured carbonate formations. The bottom waters gradually started to coning as the field is producing, and we couldn't exactly judge the right intervals and positions of WBT, so it's hard to do chemical water plugging later. Meanwhile, t's impossible to adopt mechanical water plugging either because open hole completion had been adopted. In sand formations, the completion methods normally being adopted in horizontal wells are directly running liners or sand control screens in open-hole wells. Considering bottom water coning and the later water plugging — the two important roblems xisting in developing horizontal wells in bottom water fields, this paper studies and brings forward a well completion method called perforated liner with ECP combining with special water plugging completion pipe strings. In this method, the blind pipes with ECPs in both ends and the screen pipes are arrayed alternately, so the hole annulus are ealed with ECPs and the long blind pipe could delay the bottom water coning. It provides a new thought and matched completion method for developing bottom water oilfields reasonably. Right now this method has been applied in extended reach wells in biohermal limestone formations in South China Sea.
