摘要
Forchheimer's and Ergun's laws are assessed for shear-thinning flow in packed beds. Three approaches are proposed to predict inertial flow in packed beds. The accuracy of the proposed prediction methods are experimentally evaluated. Inertial pressure losses were found to be independent of fluid's rheology. f vs. 1/Re was found to be independent of fluid's shear rheology and beads size.
