•This paper explores the DVS scheduling of real-time tasks with shared resources.•An SRP-based two-speed approach is proposed to work with EDF and RM algorithms.•The execution speeds of tasks are adjusted dynamically by a blocking-aware method.•The energy consumption can be reduced without violating tasks’ timing constraints.
