By analyzing the hydrogeology condition and the karst development characteristics of interfluve in Liulan rivers and the karst holes, the study area is divided in different development levels: recharge karst region, recharge-runoff karst region, and runoff-discharge karst region. Karst develops deeper in recharge-runoff karst region with the depth of about 100 meter, consisting of solution cracks and karst caves. In runoff-discharge region, karst features are rich, with large cave in shallow depth of about 50 meter as the main feature. From recharge karst region to recharge-runoff karst region and runoff-discharge karst region, karst characteristics are controlled by regional groundwater flow system.
