摘要
Zhejiang Province, located in the southeast costal region of China, is highly prone to rainfall-triggered shallow landslides (soil slides and debris flows) due to its geologic, geomorphologic and climatic settings. With the aim of contributing to the landslide hazard evaluation of the region, a detailed analysis of the rainfall events that have resulted in landslides is carried out. Rainfall data recorded at the main raingauge of the region from 1990 to 2003 are analyzed and compared with the occurrence of the landslides. Regional and some local rainfall intensity-duration thresholds for the initiation of landslides are defined for Zhejiang Province.
