Through drilling for High-precision magnetic anomalies, Qinghai Nuclear Industry Geological Bureau found skarn iron polymetallic deposits in the Haxiyatu areas of Golmud City,  Qinghai Province in 2010. And initial estimate of the amount of iron suggested that resources of deposit has reached medium-sized. Ore occurs in Paleoproterozoic Jinshuikou Group and Variscan gray quartz diorite are closely related with the mineralization. This breakthrough discovery have important significance which guiding significance for multi-metal iron ore prospecting in Paleoproterozoic Jinshuikou Group in the surrounding areas of Qaidam Basin.
