Yingcheng Basin is located in the east margin of the Songliao Basin, the strata can contrast with the Songliao Basin strata. Strata of the Yingcheng Basin sequences can correspond the Songliao Basin-VI and IX of the X sequence (Huoshiling Formation, Shahezi Formation, Yingcheng Formation, Denglouku Formation and Quantou Formation) strata. Yingcheng Basin formation should be divided into the Upper Jurassic system Huoshiling Formation (J₃h), Lower Cretaceous system Shahezi Formation (K₁sh), Yingcheng Formation (K₁y) Quantou Formation (K₁q). The major industry coal seam occurred in Shahezi Formation.
